March Madness Marching Band was launched in 2008, in the tradition of... nothing this town has ever seen!
A symphony of mismatched musical instruments; a kaleidoscope of band-inspired costumes; a choreographed gaggle of hoop dancers; an array of unconventional, unpredictable dancers and spinners. Each of us a piece of authentic Lexington, a delicious concoction from our quirky ingredients.
"Stuff brass, reeds, percussion, hula hoops and a plentiful dose of performance zeal in a blender, then turn that sucker on high. What you have will be the celebratory local sounds of the March Madness Marching Band.", Walter Tunis (Lexington Herald-Leader Contributing Music Author, http://goo.gl/5kauR)
We do parades – oh, boy, do we DO parades! But that’s not all. We have dazzled at special events such as Lexington's Pride Festival, Bike Day and 2nd Sunday. We also open for bands and play special shows at Buster’s. We kicked off the Creative Cities Summit, and have been performing at the Forecastle Music Festival in Louisville since 2009. MMMB is honored to have performed at Austin's Street Band Festival, Honk!TX since 2011.

March Madness Marching Band is a volunteer, community group. We welcome new participants, whether musicians, dancers, or anyone interested in playing a support role. The most important qualification: a desire to be part of a hard-working, FUN-LOVING group of people! If you're interested, please contact a band member or e-mail us at the contact address below.
